Footprints Counseling is a private counseling practice opened by Joseph B. Alexander, LMFT in 2014. Joseph is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (L-MFT), who worked at CareNet Counseling in Winston-Salem and Mount Airy (2009-2014). He previously served in several Clinical Chaplain positions in a hospital setting in Mount Airy (2003-2009), and in a nursing home setting (1995-1999), after being at CPE chaplain resident at UNC Hospitals (1994-1995) right out of Divinity School. Joseph is an ordianed Baptist minister, who has been theologically trained and can explore spiritual issues and crises as a pastoral counselor. Joseph has particular interest in working with couples and families, as well working with issues with grief and boundaries. Rev. Alexander holds the following degrees: Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Appalachian State University 2002; Master of Divinity (MDiv.) in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, 1993; and received Bachelor of Science (Psychology and Human Services) from Wingate University, 1990. Joseph was licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in NC in 2007.
